Team Building Water Adventure Camps
If your group wants the ultimate team-building experience, consider the Clearwater Community Sailing Center’s Team Building Water Adventure Camps.
This water adventure camp is designed on the premise of a team builder, but brings into it the fun factor that you had in camp as a child. In the most efficient, effective manner, the group must integrate a number of different skills and tasks. Like a corporation or government agency, the group or team must bring together their different talents and skills to maximize the results of their efforts – to meet group goals, to win the account, to meet customer expectations, to win customer satisfaction, to close the sale – that is the team building aspect, but being on the water enjoying the sun, and mingling with your co-worker or others in your group where you get to know them in a fun non-competitive atmosphere makes this more like a camp.
The Team Builder can be designed to your groups specific needs and desires. We can offer the sport of sailing combined with kayaking and paddling. All these events combine into one fun day on the water and you might actually learn a new skill or techniques while you are having fun.
We can take up to 30 participants. Fees for this unique excursion start at $50 per person.
The CCSC’s Water Adventure is designed to foster the development of effective teams in a challenging environment that may be unfamiliar to many – on the water, racing sailboats.
All Participants are first given an overview of the basic principles of sailing –
• What makes a sailboat go forward?• How do you get from point A to Point B given different wind directions?
The group is then broken into sailing skill groups in which each member must learn a specific sailing skill –
• Helmsman
• Sail Trimmer
• Navigator/Tactician
This is done in on the water training sessions with experienced sailors on board our Hobie Wave and Hobie Getaway catamarans.
• Following specific skill training, participants are separated into racing teams, with each team made up of one member from each of the sailing skill groups. After a briefing on racing procedures and team strategy meetings, teams will integrate and exercise their new skills in an actual Team Challenge Regatta complete with awards.
The CCSC Water Adventure is –
• Safe: Directed by US Sailing certified instructors. Life jackets worn at all times. Safety boats on the water.
• Fun: On the water sailing instruction and team sailing races in beautiful Clearwater Bay.
• Effective: The experience builds communication, cooperation, decision-making and Team Work in a fun, challenging and competitive environment.
No Prior sailing experience needed!!!
