Zach and Paige Railey both grew up sailing right here in Clearwater.

Born in Clearwater, Florida, siblings Paige and Zach Railey have qualified for the 2012 Olympics. Each hope to bring home a Gold Medal in their respective events. Paige in Laser Radial and Zach in Finn.

Zach Railey was born in Saint Petersburg, FL and began his sailing career through the Clearwater Community Sailing Center and Clearwater Yacht Club in Optimist Prams when he was 8 years old. Zach quickly progressed and represented the United States at his first World Championship at age 10. Zach is now a 2008 Olympic Silver medalist in the Finn Class and 2012 Olympic hopeful representing the US on Team Alpha Graphics. Zach placed 9th out of 72 boats at the ISAF World Championships in Perth, Australia, qualifying him for the 2012 Olympics in London.


Paige Railey also began her sailing career in Clearwater, Florida in Optimist Prams. Paige is now sailing the Laser Radial and is currently dominating the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Sailing World Cup series and ranked number five on the ISAF world ranking. She is also representing the United States as a member of US Sailing Team Alpha Graphics. In 2006 she was the youngest person to receive Rolex Yachtswoman of the year and in 2007 Paige earned the gold medal at the Pan American Games. She is now training hard as 2012 Olympic hopeful, also in the Laser Radial. Paige placed 3rd out of 102 boats at the same event, which also qualified her for the Olympics.
