•Monday through Friday 9-3pm
•Camp begins June 4th and runs weekly throughout the summer.
•Camp will be closed the week of July 4th.

Little Puffs Camp: Campers attend camp from either 9-12 pm or 1-4 pm.
Cost: $150/week

•Members: $250/week
•Non-Members: $275/week

Camps

Little Puffs: Bring your little ones to have fun in the sun! Campers ages 5-7 will be paddling, sailing, and learning about the wind and water. The main focus is to have fun and be safe!
Pram Camp: Ages 8-11 or up to 120lbs. Pram sailing camp offers a basic level of sailing focusing on the fundamentals while having a great time on the water.
Open Bic Camp : Open Bics are simple fun boats that are perfect for 8-12 year old sailors of any level.
420 Camp: This camp is for 12-17 year olds. 420s are two person boats that are great for beginners and experienced sailors alike.
Water Adventure Camp: For campers ages 10 and up. Campers will be sailing primarily on Hobie Waves. Adventure camp also includes other fun activities like kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. All experience levels are welcome.
Windsurfing: This is a more physical sport and requires balancing on the board while sailing at the same time. Campers should be 10 years old. All experience levels are welcome.
Laser Camp: Lasers are fast and fun one person dinghies. They are perfect for intermediate to experienced sailors. We ask that campers be over 12 years of age and at least 115 pounds.

Specialty Camps

High Speed Catamaran Sailing:
High School students can enjoy the fast and fun speed of catamarans. All experience levels welcome. A special guest appearance from 2009 F16 World Champion Robbie Daniels, will be dropping by while in Clearwater to lend a helping hand!

Camp Awesome: A camp dedicated to teaching sailing to high functioning kids with special needs. Ages 9-16.

Camp Regatta

Summer Camp Challenge!
Saturday August 11, 2012
$30 Registration fee

This is the sailing center’s end of summer regatta. It is open to any sailor that participated in the 2012 summer camp! There will be both a beginner’s fleet and an advanced fleet. This is your sailor’s chance to show off their new sailing skills they learned in camp!

Tuesday— Turtle Day
Boat rigging & de-rigging, capsizing and
re-righting the boat.

Wednesday—Pizza Day
Practice sailing on their own. Then enjoy a pizza lunch provided by the sailing center.

Thursday—Destination Sailing
Campers will sail to Shell Island and enjoy lunch followed by a treasure hunt located on the inter-coastal slightly south of the sailing center.

Friday– Ice Cream Social
Campers will enjoy sailing one last day and finish the day with some sweet treats! Awards will be given to campers who have successfully completed camp.

What will my child be doing if the weather is bad?

CCSC provides activities in case of inclement weather such as knot tying, navigation, boating safety and environmental awareness.

Should parents stay during camp?

Most kids do better when their parents are not close by. We encourage you to enjoy your time off.

What is the camper to instructor ratio?

There are 10 campers that are assigned to an instructor who has a helper.

Does CCSC provide lifejackets?
Yes

Is it ok if my child has never sailed before?
Absolutely, that is what this camp is all about, teaching water safety and sailing, paddling, sportsmanship, and fun.

Can I drop my child off before 9 and pick them after 3?

Yes, CCSC offers before and after care for an additional fee of $100.00 per week.

Location: right here at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center

Many of the kids have been selling $5 tickets in advance to their friends, relatives and to the community at large. The advance sale is a great way for us to plan for the event, to spread the word and reach out to those who might otherwise have scheduled to have their car washed elsewhere that weekend. If you see one of our youth sailors before next weekend or if you are able to stop by the Sailing Center, please purchase a ticket! It’s going to rain at some point next week, there’ll be sand, pollen and all sorts of nasty pollutants in the air – your car will need a scrub and will thank you for your foresight!

If you don’t have a ticket, don’t worry, we won’t turn down drive-by customers

We have many exciting regattas and community events on the calendar this season. Our Youth Sailors are fired up, the coaching and staff are stupendous and the energy level at the Sailing Center is palpable. All because of your support.
